Welcome to the Oregon Coast!
Pacific Coast Scenic Byway - An All American Road Lush evergreen forests, picturesque coastal scenery, rugged cliffs, impressive sand dunes and vast sandy beaches await you along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, US Highway 101. The Oregon coast has fully developed resort communities with every possible amenity to quiet coastal towns where the loudest sounds you'll hear are waves on the shoreline and seagulls overhead.
The Oregon Coast, less than two hours away from Portland, is full of surprises. Whether its a brief storm followed by a glorious rainbow or a special find in one of the area antique shops, your visit to the coast will be memorable. Slow down, open your eyes and your heart. You will be rewarded with a special experience.
On this trip we will be touring the northern and central portions of the Oregon coast including Depoe Bay and Seaside.
The first stop will be Portland, OR where we will stay at the Worldmark Portland Waterfront Park. When your idea of vacation calls for quirk, Portland is the place to be. Located in the heart of downtown in the Historic Waterfront District, this modern resort is a prime headquarters for exploration. In a walkable city like Portland, all you’ll need are comfortable shoes and your sense of adventure.

The second stop will be Depoe Bay, OR where our home base will be the WorldMark at Depoe Bay Resort. Turn off the TV and take in a real show—Mother Nature. It’s no accident that your resort at Depoe Bay is situated in the whale-watching capital of the Oregon Coast. A visit here is your ticket to sunsets, romantic walks and fine dining with vast views of the ocean and the rugged, wild coastline.
But don’t take our word on it—the gray whales that make Depoe Bay their home 10 months of the year know a good thing when they see it. The fishing’s great (boats leave every hour, weather permitting). There are old-growth forests to discover, tidal pools to explore and "spouting horns" to marvel at.
This is the coastal experience as it should be—intimate, refreshing, beautiful and full of nature’s drama. And you’ve got the best seats in the house.
